Job Search Toolbar for Internet Explorer and FireFox

Job Search Toolbar for Internet Explorer and FireFox

Save it, apply to it, attach a resume to it and/or match/score that job you found online against any other others you’ve saved as potential new positions as you build your career.

As an R&D project with Monster Labs (for Monster.com), we created a “concept-car” toolbar proprietary to a consumer facing application being created in parallel to manage and “deep-dive” into any and all jobs saved to it.

The toolbar concept itself allows a user to search, save, apply, show similar, and match/score any job posting found on any of the major job boards.

Some features the toolbar includes:
- Minimize mode
- Saved searches by Zip Code, radius, salary requirements, and job type
- Previous saved searches
- Apply to Jobs directly from the toolbar
- Choose and attach a resume directly from the toolbar
- Score a job posting
- Bookmark Job postings
- Automatic Login
- Auto updating
- Personalized skins
- Search similiar jobs across the web.

A working prototype was developed primarily using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, C++ programming language and Microsoft’s Visual Studio.

Flash PowerPoint Loader for MonsterLabs

Flash PowerPoint Loader for MonsterLabs

It was on the heels of the last Matrix movie and Monster.com’s Labs division was beginning it’s “road-show” of executive presentations and developer demo’s. Being a “Labs” organization, it was only appropriate to break out of the PowerPoint “drone” of presentation slides.

The “loader” was developed using Flash, 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, Illustrator, ActionScript and custom written .bat program files for Windows. The Matrix movie theme was hot at the time and served as a slick interface schema to create some fun visual elements. The loader essentially could present any PowerPoint show without ever having to edit the PP files themselves. This allowed all the presenters to update and manage all of their own shows independently and copy to the server whenever required. The “loader” for all intents and purposes became a sort of cinematic launch pad for each presentation calling out the length (in time) and indexed items.

You can take a SPIN here. – Note: all PowerPoint presentations are property of Monster.com and have been DISABLED/REMOVED from this demo.

Chomp! Flash promo and beta product sign-up / download

Chomp! – As in all “Labs” type of development environments, it seems there’s a code name for everything….”CHOMP!” was ours for a couple of specific efforts to bring resume and job search management tools to the desktop. The application was specifically focused at creating a viral, fun to use, branded experience in order to attract beta testers to the free download.
