Going Mad Developing for IE6?

Browser Use Statistics for July 2009

“What is the trend in browser usage?”

It’s probably safe to say anyone who develops or designs for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 compatibility has most likely, at some point….lost their minds completely, probably for days in a row. IE6 compatibility takes years off of our lives.

The good news is FireFox is way ahead in consistent use of a single version. IMHO, designing for the latest and greatest finally serves the majority.

Go Wide.

by HumanCode on Aug.20, 2009, under HCS News

If you’ve been waiting to upgrade your site design to a wider format…GO AHEAD. The benefits of wider screen designs are obvious from a more widely viewable content perspective and having your pages work harder without your visitors having to lift (or click) a finger.

Breaking out of the 1024×768 resolution box never made more sense with wider resolutions in use by almost double of the OLD 1024 standard.

From w3schools.com

Most Commonly Used Display Resolution
The current trend is that most computers are using a screen size of 1024×768 pixels or more:

2009 57% 36% 4% 0% 3%
2008 38% 48% 8% 0% 6%
